SERVICES WE PROVIDE
COMPREHENSIVE WOUND CARE MANAGEMENT
We conduct ongoing treatment of acute and chronic wounds by providing an appropriate environment for healing by both direct and indirect methods in conjunction with the prevention of skin breakdown. Common wound treatments provided include:
-
Treatment of Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Diabetic Foot Ulcers are a partial or full thickness tissue loss often preceded by an epidermal blister. Often painless due to neuropathy, leading to a delay in presentation and patient seeking medical treatment.
-
Treatment of Pressure Injuries
Pressure Injuries are localized injury to the skin or underlying tissue typically caused by unrelieved pressure over a bony prominence. Pressure Injuries are treated by irrigating the wound and applying special medical grade dressings designed to promote healing.

-
Treatment of Arterial Leg Ulcers
Arterial Leg Ulcers are caused by an impairment of arterial blood flow leading to tissue ischemia and formation of lower-extremity ulcers.

-
Treatment of Venous Leg Ulcers
Venous Leg Ulcers are partial or full thickness tissue loss often caused by excess fluid accumulation in the lower extremity causing edema and blisters formation.

-
Treatment of Traumatic Wounds
Traumatic Wounds are injuries to the skin and underlying structure associated with a Traumatic event.

-
Treatment of Surgical Wounds
Surgical wounds are incisions or wounds associated with a surgical procedure which fail to heal after a surgical procedure.

-
Treatment of Malignant Wounds
A “Fungating” wound associated with a malignant tumor or a mass of malignant cells infiltrating the tissue, lymph nodes and the blood vessels.

DEBRIDEMENT PROCEDURES
Debridement is a major component of wound management used to prepare the wound bed for optimal granulation and re-epithelialization. Non-viable, necrotic tissue serves as a source of nutrients for bacteria and also acts as a physical barrier for granulation and re-epithelialization. The most commonly used debridement procedures we perform are Selective Sharp Wound Debridement and Autolytic Wound Debridement.

-
Selective Sharp Wound Debridement
A procedure in which a medical provider removes the dead (necrotic) tissue from and around a wound to expose healthy tissue to promote optimal wound healing.

-
Autolytic Wound Debridement
A selective and noninvasive debridement method using autolytic, or autolysis “Breakdown” which occurs utilizing the body’s own white blood cells and Lysozymes through the liquification and rehydration method.

AMNIOTIC MEMBRANE ALLOGRAFT
Allografts are an advanced wound care option commonly used in wound management. Allografts are found to be effective in chronic, hard to heal wounds and are the most effective treatment modality which facilitates Granulation and Re-Epithelialization. Amniotic tissue allografts can be placed on or around a wound to serve the same function that they do in utero, which is to cover, protect and nourish tissue.
